In 1965, 1966 and 1969 branches were founded in Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Recklinghausen.
The property in Bochum-Wattenscheid was first rented in 1976 by the company Krummel & Busch GmbH & Co KG.
In 1988, Krummel & Busch GmbH merged to form RUHRTRANS Internationale Befrachtungs- und Transport GmbH, Bochum, as the sole shareholder.
A branch was also opened in Essen in the same year.
In 1997, a branch office was established in Magdeburg, which existed until 2007.
From 2005 to May 2017, Ruhrtrans was part of the Canadian group of companies Chemtrade Logistic.
Inc.
with headquarters in Toronto.
The company was renamed Ruhrtrans GmbH on 15.07.2009.
Mitsui & Co. Ltd. based in Tokyo, Japan, took over Ruhrtrans GmbH in June 2017
